The felting process starts with raw New Zealand wool, carded until soft and pliable, and then manipulated gently by hand with warm soapy water until the fibers lock together, forming a sturdy felt. The damp wool is stretched and shaped into the desired figure and then left in the hot Nepalese sun to dry. Finally the most detailed steps begin. Each figure and flower is embellished with embroidery and beading, lovingly given individual personality. This handmade charm gives Gry & Sif the unique style that makes these creations so special. After hours of patience and dedication, the results are pieces of art that feel good to place in your home, knowing the integrity in their creation.
